In June 2004 I was invited by Jane  Muntz -Torres to Umberslade Farm near Solihull as the BBC programme Countryfile wanted to spend a day there filming the different activities a Shire horse is capable of doing. I had been spending a lot of time down there to keep my hand in with horses and it helped Jane as she could advertise more activities for the Shires. She told me she had told the Countryfile team I was an expert at ploughing with horses and they were very keen to interview me.

On the day Ben Fogule interviewed me and I was very pleased when it was actually broadcast. I chain harrowed on the day with Janes horse Toby and Kevin Morris’s horse Dan as it was too dry and hard to actually plough.

John Ward from the Shire Horse Society was there to explain the breeding programmes they are involved with and what the future may hold.

Ken Young brought his Cross Country Driving Trials vehicle and the girls from Umberslade rode and show jumped their Horses.

The programme was broadcast on August 1st 2004 and then repeated in  2007.
