Ann Tomlin aged 6 years old in July 1973 as I was seven that September. I had been lost in Blackpool while on holiday with Grandma & Grandad and after Auntie Barbara had told me off she decided to treat me and her two children Wendy & Kevin. Them pair were upset because a very nice police lady had found me and we rode about Blackpool in a Police Car. They had wanted a go in the Police car so the monkey was a poor second choice, still Auntie Barbara told them to shut up maoning which they did. I had to suffer the humiliation of having a name tag on for the rest of the holiday, which was actually a waste of time becasue she never let go of my hand again when we were away from the hotel. I had gone with them without Mum & Dad becasue Susan one of my sisiters was in Hospital fairly frequently with bad ears and Karen my other sisiter was only a year old and at least one less child was a bit of a rest for Mum & Dad. It was also hay making and harvest time which didn't help as very often Mum went to the hospital on her own. Susan had been born partially deaf with learning difficulties and she wasn't slow in telling you, I'M DEAF YOU KNOW, SO I CAN'T HEAR YOU., she'd say. Only she wasn't that deaf really. One thing that always stuck in people's minds about Susan as a kid was that she always wore her wellies on the wrong feet. And there was never any persuading her otherwise.
