This was taken at The Southern Counties All England Ploughing Championships in 1977. The scruffy lot on the horse are from front to back Karen Tomlin, Ann Tomlin, Sharon Shorrocks, & Susan Tomlin. Dad had ploughed there with David Neal's shires and we had all been bumped up there becasue it was a long walk back to the horsebox. The chap leading the horse was a friend of David's. The horses were brought as youngsters from Bob Brickell near Oxford and when I saw him on a day trip with the Cotswold Cart Horse Society in 2000 he told me he was very proud to be able to say that Dad had ploughed with a pair of his horses. Bob told me how he had gone to some of the matches to watch Dad and he commented on how good he was. I thought it was quite funny how Bob was in awe of Dad, especially with all of the prizes he must have won in the show ring.
